OL-2
Presets
Press Presets under the faceplate and a panel slides in over the front plate, with the factory presets and your own.
A preset sets the sound: Gain, Peak Reduction, Limit, HF Emphasis, Mix, Colour, Auto Gain and both trims. It leaves your setup alone, so Input Calibration, Stereo Link and Balance, the meter, power and the window size stay as they are when you change preset.
Save your own settings as a user preset from the same panel. User presets also show up in your host’s own preset browser, where the host supports CLAP presets.
Factory presets
Section titled “Factory presets”| Preset | Tag | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Init | STOCK |
Every control at its default. A clean place to start. |
| Gentle Vocal | VOCAL |
Light, even levelling on a lead or backing vocal. |
| Upfront Vocal | VOCAL |
More levelling and a little colour, to bring a vocal forward. |
| Bass Levelling | BASS |
Holds a bass part steady, on Limit. |
| Acoustic Guitar | GUITAR |
Smooths strummed parts, with HF Emphasis taming the bright strums. |
| Drum Bus Glue | DRUMS |
Parallel levelling that pulls a kit together. |
| Parallel Smash | DRUMS |
Heavy limiting blended under the dry drums. |
| Mix Bus Warmth | MIX |
A touch of levelling and colour across a whole mix. |
Auto Gain is on in every factory preset except Init, so moving between them stays level. The presets assume your audio peaks around the Input Calibration level; if a preset does too much or too little, trim the input before reaching for Peak Reduction.
Saving with your project
Section titled “Saving with your project”Your host saves OL-2’s settings with the project, including the rear panel, and restores them when you open it again. Automation works on every control except the meter switch.
