Kerf Modulators

Install and licence

  1. Download Kerf Modulators for Linux from kerfaudio.com/products/modulators. You get kerf-modulators-0.5.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz.
  2. Quit REAPER. The installer will not run while REAPER is open.
  3. Unpack the archive, open a terminal in the folder it makes and run ./install.sh. It never needs sudo. It copies the extension into ~/.config/REAPER/UserPlugins, removes any older copy, and sets a sensible height for the docked panel.
  4. Start REAPER and choose Extensions › Kerf Modulators: Show/hide panel.

Portable REAPER: ./install.sh --reaper-dir /path/to/REAPER

Uninstall: ./install.sh --uninstall (add --reaper-dir for a portable REAPER). Your licence, evaluation record and presets are kept, so a reinstall picks up where you left off. They live in ~/.config/Kerf Modulators/.

Requirements: REAPER 7.8 or later, 64-bit; Linux x86_64 with glibc 2.35 or later. macOS 26 Tahoe or later is coming soon. There is no Windows version.

Kerf Modulators runs in full for 30 days from first use, with no reminders. A badge in the panel header shows the days left and that the copy is not licensed. After day 30 nothing is locked: projects keep playing and rendering and every modulator stays editable, but a reminder that you are still evaluating covers the panel for 30 seconds when you first open it in each REAPER session, then you carry on.

Open the Settings tab (the badge opens it too) at any time. There are three ways:

  1. Key file. Download modulators-licence.kerflicence from Account › Licences, then choose Load licence file or drop the file onto the panel. One file works on all your computers, offline.
  2. Activate online. Choose Activate, sign in at kerfaudio.com in the browser that opens, check the code matches and approve the computer.
  3. Activate offline. Save a request file, upload it on any computer at Account › Devices › Authorise offline device, then load the licence file you get back.

A licence removes the reminder and the badge. It is perpetual and personal: run it on every computer you own, use it commercially, with updates within the major version included. Organisations need the organisation licence; registered charities can ask for the free charity edition. Full terms: kerfaudio.com/legal/licensing.
